Friends, Family, Classmates, Ex-Co-Workers, I have gathered you together tonight, because one of you is responsible for the murder of Mr. Body. Gasp!

It's because of such writing cliches  that I'm in law school not living the life of a bohemian poet.  But seriously folks, I've completed my first year of law school (wild applause, though one audience member gets confused and throws wild-apple sauce), and tomorrow I head off to Tanzania for a summer internship with the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). Someday I'll tell you the story of how I got the internship (because I was on a wait list for a fellowship and by the time I got off the wait list all the more qualified people had accepted jobs at other places and then the offer from the ICTR came in) but until that time you can just think it has something to do with, like, my intelligence or qualifications or something.

I wanted to write a thoughtful little paragraph summarizing my thoughts after a year of law school, but I'm tired of having that conversationl and I still have to finish packing and making mix-mini-cd's for the road, and you don't really care, now, do you?

Last year when I was traveling, I sent out mass emails every couple of weeks. Then I edited them and put them on the Web.  Because I'm taking my lap top with me this summer, I'm going to try to update this webpage (click on the bookmark button right...NOW) weekly, bi-weekly or something.  So if you're interested, just check this page every couple of weeks, and if you're not, no sweat.

I don't have much else to add at this point. I don't know where I'll be living, I'm not sure what the food's like, and I don't know exactly what sort of work I'll be doing. I will be working for ten weeks, followed by 3 weeks of traveling (safari!?) and then back to NYC.  I'll probably write about cultural things (food, lifestyle), my work (respecting confidentiality) and impressions about the UN and Arusha (the town I'll be living in).  I'm not sure yet which email address I'll be checking most, so I'll let you know later.
